Founded in the year 2000, INIS THEATRE quickly established itself as a new and sassy voice on the Irish theatre scene. With four acclaimed shows — The World's Wife, Lady Susan, To Kill a Dead Man, and most recently Tick My Box! (the sell-out hit at the 2004 ESB Dublin Fringe Festival and winner of the Best Actress(es) Award for the lead performances) — Inis Theatre is currently gearing up for its busiest year yet. Tick My Box! and To Kill A Dead Man will be touring throughout 2006. For further details, visit our Tour Dates page. Inis Theatre was founded by actors Iseult Golden and Carmel Stephens. They met at drama school in the mid-nineties and bonded while writing and performing a six minute musical adaptation of 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame'. After graduating and working freelance for couple of years, the lure of artistic autonomy drew them together again and so, Inis Theatre was launched with their acclaimed debut show — The World's Wife by Carol Ann Duffy — "gloriously wicked ... nothing less than a delight" (The Sunday Independent). David Horan came on board as director-in-residence for The World's Wife and stayed on to co-direct, with Aoife Monks, the company's second show, Lady Susan by Jane Austen, as well as directing Inis' third & fourth shows, To Kill A Dead Man and Tick My Box! >> Join our Mailing List for up-to-date
